Book Lists.
Aimed for ages 4-6
-
Illustration Sensations.
These books have been selected especially for their epic ability to inspire discussion about the pictures & inferences.
The emphasis is less on reading the words (some even have no words!) which gives room to relax into a world of imagination & child-driven story telling.
-
Non-Fiction.
This fact style is a great way to explore different features & structures.
Some children gravitate to this style more too, as they enjoy picking up new facts or learning more about a subject they especially love.
If your child reads a lot of fiction stories, it could be worth throwing in a few of the books from this list to mix it up.
-
Fiction.
This group of books can cover a variety of genres often forgotten at first glance.
Try to borrow poetry, diary style, joke books & fairytales.
Most children seem to digest a large amount of traditional fiction texts, which is great, but be mindful of mixing up genres to explore different styles.
